The Groovix log in screen shows the workstation name (located in /etc/groovix/label), date and time in the top center of the screen, the log in dialog box in the center and the reservation status of the machine at center bottom. The log in dialog box accepts library card numbers followed by the PIN for authentication as well as accounts, names and passwords for staff.
At this screen, before logging in, you can flip between the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and a terminal window at any time using the following key presses.
CTRL+ALT+F2 for a terminal interface (xterm)
CTRL+ALT+F7 for GUI
Note: it is not recommended to use these shortcuts openly in front of the public, patrons having terminal access can pose security threat to your network or patrons could assume the machine is broken/out of order.
